FAQ

What is the most popular badminton string?

Yonex BG65 is the most strung string globally — modest performance but unmatched durability and price. It is the default factory string on most rackets.

What string gives the most power?

Thin gauge multifilaments like Yonex Aerosonic (0.61 mm) and Nanogy 95 give the highest repulsion, with Aerosonic the most explosive but also the most likely to break.

Are thinner strings always better?

No. Thinner strings (0.61-0.65 mm) give more repulsion and feel but break faster and cost more per session. For most club players a 0.66-0.70 mm string is the sweet spot.

How often should I restring?

Use the rule: restring as many times per year as you play per week. See our restring frequency estimator tool for a personalised schedule.
