FAQ

What tension should a beginner use?

Beginners should start around 20–23 lbs. Lower tension has a larger sweet spot and generates more power with less precise technique, which makes the game more enjoyable while you learn.

Does higher tension mean more power?

No — that is a common myth. Higher tension actually reduces the trampoline effect, giving more control but less power and a smaller sweet spot. Power-oriented players often prefer slightly lower tension.

How does tension affect my arm?

Higher tensions transmit more shock to the wrist, elbow and shoulder. If you have any joint discomfort, drop 2 lbs and use a softer, multifilament string.
